From blocklists to throttling, here are the alerts we recommend

eDataSource recommends the following notifications to begin your deliverability alerting. All criteria should be evaluated alongside your existing campaign performance to determine actionable thresholds for your program. 

To get started, click the + next to Your Alerts from your lefthand navigation

Edit an existing alert, mouse over the alert name and click the ... icon

Give each alert a clear description, this will be the subject line of the notification

Blocklists

  • Blocklist alerts can be configured for an individual domain or IP address, a user or account profile covering 1-n domains, or an IP group
  • Each user can group the monitored blocklists into primary and secondary categories from the settings menu
  • Example Alert Setup:

Spam Trap Hits

  • Spam Trap alerts can be configured for an individual domain or an account or user profile covering 1-n domains
  • Spam Trap alerts can alert on Pristine trap hits or Recycled trap hits or both
  • Example Alert Setup:

Inbox Placement

  • Inbox placement alerts can be monitored to alert on your defined threshold for an individual domain or IP address, a user or account profile covering 1-n domains, or an IP group
  • Separate alerts can be created to alert on inbox placement at each ISP or one general alert to monitor overall deliverability

Campaign Inbox Placement

  • Campaign Type alerts allow additional filtering criteria to be added to look for specific conditions across all of the mail being monitored by the Inbox Tracker account

DKIM/SPF Record Issue

  • DKIM Record issues can be quickly identified with an alert for an individual domain or a user or account profile covering 1-n domains
  • SPF Record issues can be quickly identified with an alert for an individual domain or a user or account profile covering 1-n domains
  • Example Alert Setup:

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance)

  • The DMARC protocol protects your sending domains from unauthorized use and phishing. The DMARC protocol that is tied to SPF and DKIM alignment of your mail and provides Internet Service Providers with disposition instructions if email is not properly aligned.
  • You can monitor overall DMARC pass percentage, SPF and DKIM Alignment percentage, detection of new sources, and processing status changes.

Throttling

  • Throttling alerts can identify ISP’s that are holding your mail before delivering into customer’s inboxes. An increase in Time To Deliver (TTD) generally means that your emails are under more scrutiny by the ISP
  • Identify an increase of 50% or greater than 5 minutes over the previous 3-day TTD average for an individual domain or a user or account profile covering 1-n domains

Event Usage

  • An account type alert keeps you updated on the number of events you have remaining for seed tests, design tracker tests and analytics tracker events
  • Event usage data is always accessible within Inbox Tracker in your settings menu
